George grew up in the Calton area of Glasgow he met his wife Cathy who he married and were together for 60 years, George and Cathy had 6 of a family 3 girls and 3 boys, Janice, Jim, John, Alison, Billy and Karen. George was a painter and decorator and had been an amature boxer in his younger years. George had a love of music in particular classical music, he liked films of all kinds and also TV shows with some of the old comedians being his favourite. George like to watch sport on TV, he had a keen interest in most sports. George is a much loved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, father in law and friend.
